"Understanding the Brain: The birth of a Learning Science"

Dr. Maldonado talks about a lot of myth really interestig and fascinating, for example he talk about the myth that you only can learn until the old of three, or that the brain of a men is different of a women. Myhts that stay in the conscience of all the people.
But, actually more interesting that the myths was how they become alive. It's impressive how we stay "back" in the news discover and how the things are involved in our perception.

"This inevitably leads to faulty interpretation, questionable extrapolation, and, more generally, the genesis of falses ideas"

Improve your memory!

When I read this part of the chapter I think that the person that fall in this slogan didn't read "Brave New World " of Aldous Huxley. The first thing that you see is a scene when they try to teach minwhile the person is sleeping. Of course, didn't work out.

I always hear this myth, but I also knew that was a big lie.

Well, is not a complete lie, but is not a great idea for learn, because you always join all the senses for put in your memory something for not forget.
But is better if you stay awake in class :) and much better if you do a concepts map after, because increase the ability of resolve problems. This work activate different areas of the brain during the process.

So, in conclusion you can not belive all that you read.

Stress!

We can define stress as a physiological reaction of the body to deal with a situation perceived as threatening or increased demand. It is a natural and necessary response for survival.

Stress's symptoms

-Peripheral vasoconstriction
-mydriasis
-tachycardia
-tachypnea
-slowing intestinal motility

All these mechanisms are developed to increase the chances of survival in a near-term threat, not to be kept indefinitely, as happens in some cases. n the medium term, the sustained alertness may cause diseases.

The stressors or triggers of stress can be any stimulus, external or internal (physical, chemical, auditory or somatic and obviously, the life in general) that directly or indirectly conducive to destabilize the dynamic equilibrium of the body.

To combat stress is recommend breathing exercises. The goal is to exercise voluntary control over breathing, so we use it as a painkiller when we overwhelm the stress.

Usually the doctor say "Stay away of stress situation" That makes me laught. How could I stay away? The life give us a lot of difficult situation, but te really importan is that all hace solution

Healthy lifstyle

Celebrations, Healthy lifestyle & more !! :)

In our country, big celebrations comes with a big and delicious food.
And for been more specific, in my family the celebrations are longs. Very.

I think that, even when you have a family like mine, It is possible have a healthy lifestyle. And I'm not talking about diet or kill us because we are hungry. And the time is not a excuse for not do sport, because I'm a hard believer that if we organize our time well, we can do everything. - Sadly, I'm not one of these people, buy one day I'm gonna be the real example of the thing that I'm saying.-

The thing that I'm trying to say is that the only thing that we really need to do is
do sport and have a healthy diet. It is normal that you, once in time, "get out" of
youre healthy diet, but if you always do something more that sitting by the computer all is gonna be ok.

But, more than be slim, for have a healthy lifestyle we need a "healthy brain". Youre happiness It's more important. Even what you wear, and what do you do have a influence in youre happiness. You have to do everything the thing that you want do.

It is hard, but you have give yourself a gift once in time.
